How Low Can you Go?

Martha checked into a suite-size room on the transplant unit Sunday night about 9PM. The room gives her a sneak-peak of the bright and shining I-40 Mississippi River Bridge. And the food is provided on-demand like room-service , she just dials-up her order and they deliver it when she's ready.

Her chemo drip began at 6AM on Monday and runs for two hours with four hours off, then starts again - this continues for the next five days and then she changes to a different drug for four days. So far so good, she's only complained of lightheadedness, probably due to taking megadoses of Dilantin, which is supposed to prevent having seizures caused by chemo. She's taking several other drugs to prevent side-effects, infections and similar complications. Nurses have warned her that she will probably not start feeling REALLY bad until after her transplant, that's when her blood counts drop to their lowest. Bring on the LOW, because that's what she has to have to make the transplant a success.

So here's to being at our lowest.....who says that's a bad thing?
