Oklahoma Spaghetti
Martha's bad mood this weekend and general discomfort severely reduced her calorie intake for the past several days. Meanwhile the dreaded mouth and throat sores started hurting yesterday. So with all of these factors working against her, the nutritionist decided it was time to start TPN (total parenteral nutrition) also know as vitamins, protein & carbs in a bag. This is yellow fluid that actually looks like Margarita Mix, hey she said she wanted to get the party started, right?
This decision does not mean Martha is doing bad, or that she is having problems, in fact her Dr. thinks she ate well beyond what was expected. However, Martha looks at this like under-excelling and immediately started eating again! She is determined that they will remove the TPN before the end of the week!
With all that said, she requested her Grandma's Oklahoma Spaghetti recipe and demanded that I (your friendly blogger) go home and bake it for her. Well I'm sure you all can guess what I did - and yes, she did enjoy it even though my cooking was appropriately labeled as the BIOHAZARD that it is. Still not sure how the chili powder is going to agree with her delicate stomach..... but we're feeling lucky today!

Guess you can look at it this way--she is well enough to make a demand and it makes you feel needed.

We're glad you feeling well enough to want "Oklahoma Spaghetti". Would you share your recipe with me? I'll be glad to see that sweet smile back on this old site. I think you would look great with your head painted as a Easter egg. You are such a moral builder anyway, you have always shown others the good side of everything. We love you, Happy Easter!
Glad to hear your determination is still rock solid - you go girl!!!
I was a little hesitant about blogging as it is "new" to me. Golly, what a stretch to get out of my "comfort zone".
I have been following the treatments and progress on the blog. You are a very strong girl.
Weather here in Missouri was close to 80 today. I am so glad Spring/Summer is here - except for the ticks which are out in full force already.
I wonder - when God made the tick - what was the tick's purpose? I just don't see any.
Well, better close for now - nice to talk with you. We're keeping you in our prayers, Martha.
